Mass Effect 3 Leviathan DLC Announced

During its summer showcase today, EA officially announced Mass Effect 3’s Leviathan downloadable content. According to EA, the content allows players to “discover more about the origins of the Reapers as they race across the galaxy to unravel the mystery that surrounds the fabled Leviathan.” It'll pack new planets and characters, but you'll still play as Commander Shepard.

Specific details about Leviathan haven’t been announced, but we know it follows the search for Leviathan, a rogue reaper who has indoctrinated a mining colony. Look for it this summer on 360 [IGN]

Details on Upcoming NCAA Football 13 Patches

EA Sports today released details on the first two patches in the pipeline for NCAA Football 13. The first is scheduled to release on July 31 and will address a crash experienced in Dynasty mode and a playcall screen bug. The second and more comprehensive patch is expected by the end of August and will work to improve gameplay deficiencies including zone coverage and some issues found in Dynasty and with custom playbooks.

EA will be updating uniforms throughout the year with default sets being offered for free. So Missouri, Rutgers, Arkansas, Texas A&M, and others that were left out or inaccurate will be available to everyone.

Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer DLC Coming Next Tuesday

Mass Effect 3's 'Earth' multiplayer DLC launches on Xbox 360 next Tuesday, July 17, and will be free! If rumors from back in June are correct, the DLC will include maps from Rio, Vancouver, and London, and several new human classes will be added. BioWare has yet to confirm any new details about the content, but we expect to hear more in the near future.Stay tuned to XBLN.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist Boxart Revealed

A product page for Splinter Cell: Blacklist on Amazon has revealed the game’s box art in addition to a possible release date. Amazon currently has the game tentatively scheduled to hit stores on March 29th in the UK and April 1st in the United States, could be placeholder dates but Ubisoft has stated game will be released in Spring 2013 so they could. We'll keep you updated on this.

Halo 2 Remake in the Works?

 New rumor suggests 343 Industries following up last years Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary with a Halo 2 remake.

If a rumor proves accurate, Microsoft and its new Halo team 343 Industries, are at work on a high-definition remake of 2004's original Xbox game Halo 2. The rumors section of the latest issue of the Official Xbox Magazine UK (via Kotaku) dropped the details.

"Following the success of remake Halo Anniversary, 343 Industries has now started development of Halo 2 Anniversary," the magazine writes, without specifying its source.

XBLN Note: The one thing to wonder about this is how they will handle the multiplayer? Will they simply re-release the maps from Halo 2 as a map pack for Halo 4 or will they retain the original Halo 2 multiplayer? We would guess that this would come next year as Halo 4 comes out this year. Could also possibly end up as a Next Xbox release title. Time will tell.
